Colombian-born, Miami-based artist Federico Uribe will talk about the motivations and meaning of his work in the Dorothy K. Hohenberg Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29.

Join us beforehand in the rotunda for the Mala Leche pop up shop. The creative duo of Francisco Flores and Juice Lopez breathe new life into the phrase Mala Lache, which identifies bad luck or intentions, giving Latin-American subject matter a rebellious, raw and current culture. Music by Hollow Sol.

Uribe, a creator of magical creatures and playful installations, is making a large-scale site-specific environment for the latest iteration of Rotunda Projects, a series that has featured work by Yinka Shonibare, Nnenna Okore, and, most recently, Lisa Hoke. "Rotunda Projects: Federico Uribe" will be on view through August 11, 2019. Learn more here: http://www.brooksmuseum.org/rotunda-projects-federico-uribe
