“Escape to the Sea” is a collection of the soft subtle colors of seashells, contrasting with bright colors of beach umbrellas, beach chairs and sunsets. Carolyn and her husband Mike, have been lucky enough to visit the Caribbean for more than 25 years. Their favorite island is Anegada in the British Virgin Islands. After hours on the beach collecting shells and seeing the fresh-caught fish, this fascinated Carolyn and provided her with endless painting subjects for interpretation. Most of her pieces are acrylic, but watercolor has also offered to be a good medium for outdoor sketching with touches of color.

Moss lives and works locally and earned her Bachelor of Science in art with a minor in education. She started her career teaching art and then transitioned to graphic design, where she specialized in illustration and publishing. Currently, she devotes her time to painting and being a member of Artists’ Link and acting membership chairman of the Memphis/Germantown Art League.
