Clough-Hanson Gallery at Rhodes College is pleased to present Ryan Rasmussen: Fathom.

‘Fathom’ intertwines notions of ritual, alchemy, and formal exploration. Through sculpture and video, the exhibition surveys fundamental human curiosities, including phases of change, units of measure and the persistence of transformation—all of which shape cultural and personal mythos.

Ryan Rasmussen is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work spans practices in sculpture, installation, interactive objects, video, digital fabrication, printmaking, and things that have mass or do not. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally in such venues as Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar; CICA Museum of South Korea; the Glass Curtain Gallery in Chicago, IL and most recently at the Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery in Midland-Odessa, TX. Rasmussen holds his MFA in Dimensional Practice from the University of Iowa, MA in Sculpture with a minor in Printmaking also from the University of Iowa, and his BFA from the University of Minnesota. He has taught at Virginia Commonwealth University in Doha, Qatar and is currently Assistant Professor of Art at Rhodes College.
