Frisco 1351 Art Contest


Help restore the Frisco 1351 steam locomotive through your artistic talents! the Friends of the Morton Museum of Collierville History invite artists to submit original artistic interpretations of the Frisco 1351. Participants must be 13 years or older by August 1st. A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the First Place winner. The winning piece will be reproduced into prints and sold to raise money for the restoration of the Frisco 1351. Cash prizes will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rdplace finalists. The top 3 finalists' works will be exhibited in the Morton Museum’s annualCommunity Artist Retrospective exhibition. The deadline for entries is October 2nd, 2017. Click Here for entry information and form.

Art on the Move! November 4th

10am - 3pm

This year, the Morton Museum is partnering with the Lucius E. Burch Collierville Library and the Collierville Division of Tourism to present Art on the Move.  This event will replace Fall into Art from previous years. Event goers can visit galleries at the Morton Museum, Collierville Town Hall, and the Lucius E. Burch Collierville Library by riding Collierville’s famous Double Decker Bus. At the Museum and Library, there will be crafts and other activities for the whole family to enjoy, as well as an opportunity to see artists demonstrating their talents. If you or other artists are interested in demonstrating their artistic talents for this event, please contact the Morton Museum atMuseum@ci.collierville.tn.us

In conjunction with Art on the Move the Morton Museum's annual group exhibition, Retrospectivewill showcase the diversity of artists and artistic styles that have shown with the Community Art Galleries throughout 2017.  Art on the Move! (November 4th) will serve as the opening reception for the exhibition, providing an opportunity for the artists to interact with the public and speak on their work. On view November 1- November 30, 2017.

Tennessee Shakespeare Company Production
October 7, 2017 at 4pm

Experience Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet the classical way- on an outdoor stage! This unique production is presented by The Tennessee Shakespeare Company at the Gazebo on the Square. The show will run 80 minutes followed by 10 minutes of Q & A.Sponsored by Collierville's Division of Tourism.

Movie in the Park
October 12, 2017 at 7pm

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite snacks to H.W. Cox Park to watch the 2017 retelling of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Robin David Segal. Art in the Alley
October 19, 2017 at 6pm

Come enjoy food and drink and watch Plein Air artists paint scenes from our Town Square and Mulberry Alley. Art will be available for sale. Event takes place in the alley behind the shops on Mulberry Street. Ticketsare $50 per person.
