Weekend Workshop at MCA

by - March 30, 2016

Memphis College of Art will host students, their parents and art teachers for a Weekend Workshop on Saturday, April 2 from 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m. The event is free for art teachers, parents, high school seniors and transfer students who have already applied to MCA.
For several years, the college has opened its doors for Weekend Workshops to give potential students, their parents and art teachers a glimpse into MCA’s art college experience. Students who attend the Weekend Workshop have the opportunity to meet with faculty during classroom workshops, where they will be able to view the studio facilities and create art, as well as have their portfolio reviewed and discuss the many career paths open to graduates with art degrees. Additionally, students who have already been accepted to MCA will be able to meet with financial aid.
The Admissions department will also host a Q&A session for parents that day to discuss MCA’s liberal arts education curriculum, studio classes, student life, financial aid and possible careers for their student.
Guests can register online at mca.edu/2016-weekend-workshops or at the door. High school seniors and transfer students who would like to apply to MCA that day can bring their high school transcript, ACT or SAT score and portfolio to have the $15 entrance fee waived.
