MCA Community Education Classes - Register Now!
Registration is currently underway for Memphis College of Art’s Community Education classes, which include both adult continuing education courses and Saturday School
for ages K-12.
“We are offering so many interesting and creative courses for adults this semester,” said Cece Palazola, MCA’s director of community education. “From painting to digital photography and metalsmithing, there is such a wide variety.” Palazola notes that courses at MCA differ from other offerings in the area. “We really take a very artistic approach and drill down much more into techniques and practices. A student in our adult education classes will take away a lot of knowledge and experience from the coursework.”
This semester, MCA will also be adding classes in Fashion Design. “We have been involved for several years with the Memphis Fashion Week and emerging designers, so it seemed like a perfect fit,” said Palazola.
Palazola recommends early registration, as popular classes tend to fill up quickly. Registration for Saturday School will continue through Sept. 23, with classes beginning on Sept. 27. For adults, courses are scheduled throughout the autumn months, the first beginning the week of Sept. 7. Registration can be done on the MCA website (mca.edu) where a full list of classes can also be found under Public Programs. Registration forms can also be submitted by fax to 901-272-5122 or in person at Gibson Hall, 1939 Poplar Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. For additional information, call 901-272-5142 or email email@example.com.
