What is Shell Out for the Arts?

Get ready to Shell Out! Support the arts and enjoy a fall evening at the Levitt Shell in Overton Park! Shell Out for the Arts includes wine, beer and dinner from Three Angels Diner and Farm Truck Organics in a private tent before and during the Vaneese Thomas concert. Admission is only $20 for adults and free for kids 12 and under. All proceeds support arts organizations and artists across the community through ArtsMemphis.

The daughter of Memphis soul icon Rufus Thomas and the sister of Carla Thomas, Vaneese Thomas is a legend in her own right with a 50 year music career. Vaneese’s sound is a unique blend of R&B, gospel, blues and jazz. She has performed around the world and recorded with artists including Luciano Pavarotti, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Eric Clapton and Diana Ross.

Three Angels Diner is the more casual cousin of Jason Sever’s Overton Square favorite Bari and features a fresh menu with options for everyone. On the menu for Shell Out is fried chicken, sliders, vegetables and fries. Farm Truck Organics will be providing fresh fruits, vegetables and cheese that they can also bring to your doorstep with their organic produce delivery service.

Hosted by Shirley Cobbins, Alison and Sean Henneberger, Rashana Lincoln, Tarrin McGhee, Lee and Eliot Morris, Ciji Pittman, Katie and Rob Ratton and Manuel Zavala.
