In December of last year, I wrote an article for the Memphis Flyer about the two MFA thesis exhibitions at the University of Memphis and the Memphis College of Art. (click here to read) In the article I state that it is unfortunate that these two institutions are not more familiar with each other and how better served the Visual Arts community of Memphis would be if they were. Memphis is fortunate to have two MFA programs, regional cities such as Little Rock, Nashville, and Birmingham do not have this luxury. We as a visual arts city need to take advantage of this and the best way is to get these young artists working together, at least be aware of what each other is doing. This exhibition is an attempt to do just this.
