Mark Nowell at Material
Material is excited to announce its eighty-sixth exhibition, New Steel Sculptures, featuring work by Mark Nowell.
New Steel Sculptures will run for one day only during the Annual Broad Avenue Art Walk from 2-8 on Saturday, October 20th.
Material is located at 2553 Broad Avenue. Parking is available on both the north and south sides of Broad Avenue.
Mark Nowell has been a mainstay in the Memphis sculpture community since he began showing his work in the early eighties, he has been featured in numerous exhibitions in alternative spaces ranging from the now defunct Memphis Center for Contemporary Art to Marshall Arts. Nowell has also been featured in the annual The Price is Right show at David Lusk Gallery. Nowell has executed a number of public sculptures for the UrbanArt Commission and recently finished installing a large-scale sculpture at the Memphis Skatepark.
About the show the artist writes: “I wanted to do a show that is just steel - no paint, no ink, etc.”
